Hi, I’m Yvette and I work remotely from Durban, South Africa.

I started Making Words Matter to help people to express themselves effectively.

It’s part of my broader mission to make a positive difference in the world through working with words.

I look forward to helping you to say what you’ve got to say, and say it well.

Skills and experience

I work from my home studio and record audio for educational videos, radio commercials, and more!
I hold a BA degree in Speech and Drama and an Honours degree in Philosophy.
Since 2018 I’ve conducted all of my work online.
I have extensive experience in helping people to express themselves clearly and creatively in English.
- I spent 2 years teaching English to Chinese students online.
- I’ve worked as a copywriter, copy editor, and content coordinator at a full-service creative agency.
- I’ve lectured Rationalism, Critical Reasoning, and Law Winter School courses, and I tutored these university courses for several years:
  - Academic Learning in English
  - English Language Development Programme
  - Language, Text and Context
  - Words and Ideas
  - Media and Communication
